Nira Alpina Health & Safety Measures

Your health and safety has always been our priority. More so in the current situation, we have incorporated the best practices of WHO and national/local standards, rewriting our operating procedures to meet the highest level of hygiene and workplace safety while maintaining an excellent level of service to our guests. We will continuously update on further guidelines provided by the Swiss Health Authority (BAG) on the national campaign on "How to Protect Ourselves".


  • Please wash your hands regularly
  • Hand sanitizers are available at various points in the hotel
  • Always keep a minimum of 2-meter distance, groups of more than 4 persons must be avoided (people living in the same household excluded)
  • If you have symptoms of illness that indicate a respiratory illness before your arrival or during your stay, we ask you to refrain from visiting our hotel
  • If the rules, as defined in this protocol are not observed by guests, we refer to our house rights

Before arrival

  • During our summer season, a free cancellation of 2 days before arrival is possible for direct bookings of the daily rate and the Free Night Special
  • Hotel guests will receive our hygiene and Stay Safe Protocol via email a few days before arrival


  • Our housekeeping team members have been with us for years
  • Employees wear protective masks and disposable gloves while cleaning your room
  • We work with professional cleaning products from the brand Ecolab
  • The public toilets are cleaned 4 times a day
  • Lift buttons, stair backs and doorknobs in public areas are disinfected 4 times a day

Team members

Our team members are fully equipped with protective gear and are fully trained and monitored to maintain the hygiene and stay safe protocol.

  • Almost all employees have been with us for several seasons
  • In the event of symptoms of illness, the employees are sent home and instructed to follow the (self) isolation in accordance with the BAG (Swiss Health Authority). Further measures will follow on instruction from the cantonal medical service.
  • All employees are trained on our protection concept. Hand hygiene is an important component
  • If protective masks are used, they will be changed after 4 hours and disposed of properly
  • If disposable gloves are used, they will be changed after 1 hour and disposed of properly
  • In the kitchen, we work according to the HACCP guidelines
  • To monitor food safety, food samples are being taken on a regular basis by the company Eurofins and analyzed by a food lab


  • Our reception desk is equipped with a plexiglass protective part
  • There is a marking on the floor to ensure the 2m distance
  • Information brochures are issued individually at the reception
  • We prefer card payment and contactless payment
  • Key cards are disinfected at check-in and check-out
  • To register for breakfast service and use of the wellness area, please contact the reception
  • Reservations for dinner and spa treatments are only accepted at the reception


  • You will find an empty minibar in the room during this summer season
  • On request, we can fill it for you with the products of your choice. These will then be charged to your room and cannot be refunded
  • You will not find a guest directory, correspondence folder or other brochures in the room. We will be happy to give you our Guest Directory at the reception

  • Rooms will only be cleaned when guests are not in the room
  • Rooms will be cleaned daily. Kindly inform the reception team if you do not wish you room to be cleaned on a daily basis. We will be happy to accommodate your requests.

Stars restaurant

  • Tables and seating are adjusted to meet safety distance
  • The seats are adjusted to ensure the 2-meter distance
  • There are no table spices and no flower decorations on the tables
  • The menu cards are disinfected after each use

Breakfast service

  • A served-out breakfast buffet is offered
    • 1st service between 7 a.m. and 8.30 a.m.
    • 2nd service between 8.45 a.m. and 10.15 a.m.
  • Our service staff will serve you from the breakfast buffet, wearing disposable gloves and protective masks
  • We serve coffee and tea at your table
  • Egg dishes can be ordered a la carte
  • We do not display newspapers during breakfast service.

Dinner service

  • 1st service 6.00 p.m. to 7.30 p.m.
  • 2nd service 7.45 p.m. to 9.30 p.m.
  • There is an a la carte menu or a daily changing 3-course menu à la chef which can be booked for the whole stay
  • You will only be served by one waiter each evening.

Rooftop bar

  • Open from 6.00 p.m. to 11 p.m. / Friday & Saturday until midnight
  • Only the seating in the bar may be used, standing is not allowed
  • Seating is adjusted and ensures the 2-meter distance
  • Several groups of guests (maximum 4 persons or people living in one household) are allowed at the "long table", however, the 2-meter distance must be respected
  • Drinks will be served with a small snack selection
  • In the bar we serve the dishes of the Stars evening menu


  • Open from 8.30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • There is a marking on the floor to ensure the 2-meter distance
  • We prefer card payment and contactless payment

Room service

  • Available from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m.
  • The room service menu is available at reception

Kids club

  • Opening hours
    • The kids club is open for children and parents daily from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m
  • There is no caretaker on duty
  • The kids club is cleaned three times a day
  • Hand sanitizers are available in the room

Shanti Spa - wellness area

Opening hours

  • Monday to Friday from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m.
  • Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
  • Accessible only to hotel guests
  • In the wellness area are 25 persons allowed
  • A maximum of 4 people are allowed in the gym

To keep control of the maximum number, we request our guests to register with reception for the use of the Wellness area.

The possible time slots are:

    • 3 p.m. - 4.30 p.m.
    • 3 p.m. - 6.00 p.m.
    • 6 p.m. - 8 p.m. (adults only)

In addition, on weekends:

  • 10 a.m. - 11.30 a.m.
  • 11.30 a.m. - 1.30 p.m.
  • 1.30 p.m. - 3.00 p.m.
  • The number of chairs in the relaxation room is reduced to ensure a 2-meter distance
  • There are no reading magazines in the wellness area
