Nira Alpina Energy Concept
We respect, strongly believe in, and understand the importance of protecting our environment and working in a sustainable way.
We welcome you in joining our efforts and herewith present to you our energy concept which is an important part of our overall sustainability philosphy.
Living in the beautiful Engadin and being surrounded by nature highly stimulates us in both our sustainability efforts as well as in our comment to create memorable experiences for you and making your stay at Nira Alpina smooth and enjoyable.
GENERAL
Many of Nira Alpina’s public areas and storages are equipped with movability sensors to help us save energy.
In our modern building many more technical facilities have been installed in such a way that energy is being conserved.
ROOMS
The lights in our guest rooms are powered by a central system which is being activated by your room key. We kindly ask for your cooperation to remove your guest key when you are not present in your room.
We use floor heating in our guest rooms. To avoid overheating and losing energy, we ask for your cooperation to keep your bathroom door closed as much as possible. Furthermore, please keep the thermostat in your room on “0” which implies the normal heating practice.
Our housekeeping team will open the windows whilst cleaning your room to provide fresh air. We kindly ask you to keep your windows closed to assist us to keep our systems of heating and ventilation in balance and to ensure a comfortable and constant temperature in your room.
We also practice the familiar procedure of reducing laundry and your bedlinen will be changed every 3rd day. We kindly ask you to re-use your towels and hang them on the towel rack.
All our laundry is being washed in house by our housekeeping team. They are committed to use the full capacity of our washing machines.
SHANTI SPA
We wish you re-energizing moments in our spa and ask for your cooperation to use not more than one spa towel per person.
Although our spa will be open daily from 10.00 – 20.00 hrs. (children are allowed until 17.30 hrs.) The sauna is at your disposal starting from 16.00 hrs.
The water temperature in the jacuzzi is set on 33 degrees Celsius.
GARAGE + SKI ROOM + TEAM
GARAGE
Throughout our garage there are moveability sensors for lighting.
In our garage there are loading stations for hybrid and e-cars.
BIKE / SKI ROOM
We kindly ask for your cooperation to keep the door of the bike / ski room closed at all times to avoid losing energy to the (cold) garage.
BEHIND THE SCENES
At the start of the season our entire team is being trained and informed about our energy and sustainability concept.
All departments have nominated an “energy” champion and monthly meetings will take place between all champions and the hotel management.
